RECYCLE
LED lighting: recycle & waste separation
Electrical and electronic waste should be separated from household waste. LED lighting likewise. The light sources, fixtures and attachments must be returned for recycling. Users of energy-efficient lighting can do this in various ways. You can hand it in at the municipal environmental center or at a Wecycle return point. For large quantities, please contact Wecycle for a suitable solution.
Meaning of the symbol "crossed out roll container"
The “crossed out roll container”, or the KCA (klein chemisch afval) in English “small chemical waste” logo, is a compulsory logo for batteries containing hazardous substances (such as mercury, cadmium or lead), batteries, gas discharge lamps (such as energy-saving lamps and fluorescent tubes) and electrical appliances and components.
All goods with a “crossed out roll container“ symbol, cannot be disposed of with household waste.
Environmental friendly disposal of old lamps
Gas discharge lamps are 'old electrical appliances'. These can no longer be disposed of with household waste because these light sources contain mercury, as well as electronic components.
Although LED lamps do not contain mercury, they do contain electronic components.
When goods are disposed of in the proper way, the valuable raw materials such as metals and glass can be recycled. Likewise, pollutants are removed in a controlled manner. Lamps that cannot be disposed of with household waste, have a marking. YPHIX packaging is therefore marked with a "crossed out roll container".
